How often do we overlook the little things in our lives?
Most of the time we view them as insignificant. We have all heard the saying, "Little things mean a lot." I believe this. The little things in life are the most important.
Some people feel they are showing their love by working long and hard hours to assure financial security for their family. Before retiring, I was guilty of this and looking back I regret that I felt work was more important. If we spend our time always working and not enjoying our home that is filled with the little things like talking, sharing, laughing, spending time with our family, then we are missing the most essential part of our lives and their lives.
We get so excited over the big things that happen in our lives when we should appreciate and not overlook the little things that happen.
GOD gives us so many blessings and a lot of times they come in small packages we just need to take a look around us and see them. Not everything in life has to be the best or the most or the biggest sometimes it's the little things that are the most significant.

A Clean Heart and Mind
Do we have a clean heart and mind? Have we asked God to examine our hearts lately?
Psalm 26:2 says, "Examine me, O Lord, and prove me; try my reins and my heart."
The meaning of this Psalm of David is, Lord, examine me, prove me, try me. Test my motives. Look deep into my heart and mind and reveal to me things I need to change, things I am hiding from myself and from God.
God, help us to live and think like You. Teach us to stop being busy and doing, long enough for You to examine us. Create in us a clean heart and mind. Show us, O Lord, what and how we need to change to keep us in YOUR plan and in YOUR will. Help us to walk in Your truth and to live a life of faith. We love You and thank You for loving us and taking care of us. We are complete only in You. In Jesus name. Amen.

Facing our GIANTS
GIANTS, we all have them. It may be a situation, an addiction, a health issue, a person, even a fear you need to overcome. The worry overtakes us and becomes a giant in our life, day after day, intimidating us to where it becomes a battle. A battle of the mind, heart, and soul.
We know the story of David and Goliath in 1 Samuel 17:1-51. Goliath was indeed a giant. He was over 9 ft tall. David, a young shepherd boy, comes to save the day with a slingshot and 5 smooth stones. David took out one stone and hurled it at the giant and hit him, that one stone sunk into his forehead, and Goliath stumbled and fell to the ground. David prevailed over the giant, but he did not win the battle on his on. He knew going into the battle that he could not face it alone. He went into it looking up, knowing GOD was on his side and with verse 47 in his mind and heart..." for the battle is the Lord's."
This is the key to facing our giants my friends. We need to fix our eyes on God. Keep looking up. Remember it is HIS battle. He is bigger than any giant we are facing.

Be a Blessing
We all get weary and need uplifting. A word of encouragement, a compliment, a warm and friendly hello is all we need sometimes. God showers us with His blessings and shows us His favor every day, so we should pass it on.
All of us are going through something...large or small, we have a burden or a situation that no one knows about. Our act of kindness, a sweet smile, text or phone call telling someone we love and care about them and are praying may be the only hope they see and hear. Some people just need to know how and where to find peace and comfort. As Christians, we know it is through The Word and through our Savior, Jesus Christ. Our actions and words can give them that message. Wouldn't it be awesome to have someone say, "I want the joy and peace you have?"
God is so good to us, be a blessing to someone today. I promise you will be blessed as well. 💓

Take that step of faith!
Sometimes we find it difficult to do what we know is right. We have prayed. We have meditated on scripture. We have let God's Word guide us. We know this is HIS plan, the path HE has for us...
yet it is tough to take that first step.
Remember the story in Matthew 14:22-32, Jesus Walks on Water. The disciple Peter got to see the work of Jesus, he actually played a role as one of the many miracles of Jesus. He took a step of faith. Jesus said, "Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid. Jesus said in verse 29, talking to Peter... "Come" and walk on the water.
If GOD's Hand is on our lives and GOD has opened all the doors for us to walk through, then be bold and take that step of faith! Keep your eyes on Jesus. He will give us what we need to move forward and to conquer any and all fears. We will find our courage and our strength in HIM.

Open Your Eyes
If we focus on our blessings like we focus on our obstacles, we would be amazed at the unseen support of GOD's Hand and Presence at work in our lives.
2 Kings 6:15-17 gives us a beautiful illustration of how God takes care of His people. There are valuable spiritual truths in this lesson. His greatness and His sovereignty dominate this story. God listens to our prayers. If we are people of prayer and talk to God fervently and earnestly about the trials and obstacles before us, HE will give us the wisdom, understanding, and peace to deal with them.
I believe if we could indeed see what our God does in our lives every day (24/7) we would never live in fear or worry again. Open your eyes. Be aware of WHO is fighting for you.
Yours in Christ,
Tera

In the morning...
Psalm 143:8 - "Cause me to hear thy lovingkindness in the morning; for in thee do I trust: cause me to know the way wherein I should walk; for I lift up my soul unto thee." What a beautiful verse!
I am a morning person. I love my early morning time with God. I have my coffee, it's quiet and it's just HIM and me. My take on this verse is asking God to let me see His loving-kindness throughout the day in a verse, a song, the sunrise, the rain, any reminder of His unfailing love and faithfulness to me. I believe in His love. I trust Him. I need Him to direct my day.
Whatever you may be going through, whatever circumstance you may be facing, lift your heart, soul and mind up to God first thing in the morning. What better way to start your day but with HIM!
He's waiting and ready to come and sit with you and listen as you share your thoughts and prayer request with Him. Then remember to look and listen for those visible reminders of His love for you.
Love in Christ,
Tera

Preach the gospel always, use words when necessary.
The saying in my title today has been with me for many years. I believe it means in a nutshell-
If we are talking the talk as a Christian then we need to be walking the walk as a Christian.
1 Timothy 4:12 says..."but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity." Our life needs to show that we are a Christian without ever saying a word. There are many Christians today who say they are believers but prove otherwise Monday through Saturday. Do we not realize people are watching us on those days also; including our children and grandchildren?
As a believer, scripture teaches us to be a witness, to be an example of Christ and set the standard to lead others to Christ. Think on this...If we were the only Christian that a non-believer knew, what would they think and believe about Christians? About Jesus Christ?
Preach the gospel always, use words when necessary. 💗

Vitamins for the Soul
Most of us take some type of vitamin, supplement, and/or probiotic every day. We take them to keep our heart healthy, to help us see and think clearly, to fight off various sicknesses and diseases.
What about keeping our spiritual soul healthy? What are we doing about restoring that part of our body? God has given us numerous vitamins in His Word. Without our daily dose of soul supplements, we become depressed, suppressed, bitter, weary, tired, fearful, angry, the list could go on and on. Soon we are so sick spiritually that we become such a burden to everyone around us and if the truth is known we are even a burden to ourselves. God's Word is the daily vitamin we need to give us strength, love, joy, peace, kindness and it will refresh and energize our body and soul.
Psalm 119 is chock-full of vitamins for our soul, heart, mind, and spirit. So, when you take your vitamins today don't forget the "Vitamins for your Soul." Let's maintain a healthy body and a balanced and spiritual life every day!

Unexpected Plans
I have learned that my plans are not necessarily God's plans.
Esther 5:1-8 is the story of Esther and how she faced a difficult task and definitely unexpected plans. Life is full of difficult decisions and unexpected plans. I am sure she would have loved to have had someone give her God's plan all written out step by step as to what to do and how to do it.
There are things we can learn reading this story of how Esther acted and reacted. God's Hand was at work in her life. He was with her every step of every event. He opened doors for her. He gave her courage and the strength to do things she never thought she could do.
Our God can do the same for us today. When we face difficult situations- unexpected plans- HE will give us what we need to get through it. We pray and we listen. We are faithful to His Word and live in obedience to His Word. We trust God believing He is with us giving us courage and the strength every step of the way.

Trusting the Lord
Proverbs 3:5,6 says, "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart, and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge HIM, and He shall direct thy paths."
We all wrestle with life issues just about every single day. In these verses, the word that God wants us to see and learn is ALL. Do we trust the Lord with all our heart? Do we seek Him in all we do? Do we acknowledge Him in all life issues? Do we give Him everything about us and not just what we want Him to have?
Start today, taking this verse to heart. Give your all to the Lord. Let Him show you and direct you on the path HE has for you.
Blessings in Christ,
Tera
